The Tyre Pull

We can’t ignore the training techniques used by the Arctic masters!  Tyre pulling has been used by them all as a way to simulate pulling pulks.

Thanks to the 24/7 (?!?) tyre garage on Brixton Hill we now have our medley of tyres for training (available for loan if you have a 1970's LDV 7.5 tonne or an Austin Maestro).  We are now often on the pull in Wandsworth Common and once confidence levels are up you may well see us on the South Bank or in Hyde Park.

A previous year's team dragging pulks close to the pole - must be the first time dragging them felt good!

Urban dragging offers greater challenges than the tradditional field or park exercise: curbs, lamp posts and corners make for slow progress.  The first team tyre drag (Tintern St Clapham) only lasted longer than 15 minutes because we were locked out of Connie's flat.
